Help Friends of the Carrizo Plain
Friends of the Carrizo Plain supports the managing partners in the Education, Interpretation, and Conservation of the unique resources of the Carrizo Plain National MonumentBy 1987 public and private efforts to protect the Carrizo Plain as a single ecosystem culminated in the creation of The Carrizo Plain Natural Area, jointly managed by The Nature Conservancy, California Department of Fish and Game, and The Bureau of Land Management.
The Carrizo Plain National Monument was established by presidential proclamation in 2001.
The Monument occupies 205,000 acres in Central California, southwest of the San Joaquin Valley, between Bakersfield and San Luis Obispo.
